Spring Lake Battles Hard in Road Match at Zeeland East The Spring Lake varsity volleyball team traveled to Zeeland East on Tuesday night, where they faced a strong Chix squad and fell in three sets, 25-11, 25-20, 25-12. Despite the loss, the Lakers continued to show resilience and flashes of solid play, especially when passing efficiently. Lauren Meigs, Rileigh Fortuna, and Abbey Rogalski each tallied five kills to lead the offense, while Fortuna also contributed a pair of blocks, six assists, and six digs in a well-rounded effort. Setter Ashlynn O’Donnell dished out 12 assists, and defensive leaders Zoe Winters, Meigs, and Fortuna each recorded six digs. “Going in, we knew Zeeland East was a very good team and we would have to eliminate errors to play with them,” said the coaching staff. “When our passing was on, we could stay with them. When it was off, they’re such a good team that they could find open spots and score.” Spring Lake (9-16-2, 1-9 OK Black) returns home on Monday, October 27, to host Holland in their next conference matchup.
