Spring Lake Girls Golf Captures Regional Championship, Advances to State Finals The Spring Lake girls golf team is headed back to the MHSAA Division 2 State Finals after capturing the regional championship on Wednesday at Lincoln Golf Course. The Lakers posted a team score of 362 (+74) to top the 13-team field and secure their spot among the state’s best. Spring Lake’s lineup delivered a balanced and confident performance from start to finish. Junior Reagan Bennett led the way with an 87 (+15) to place fourth overall, followed by senior Anna Bonney in ninth with a 90 (+18). Senior Casey Ireland added a 92 (+20) for 12th place, while senior Finlay Cousineau carded a 93 (+21) to finish 14th. Senior Ellie Cavalier rounded out the effort with a 100 (+28). The Lakers finished 12 strokes ahead of runner-up Sparta (374), with Greenville and Northview tying for third at 383. Spring Lake will compete at the MHSAA Division 2 State Finals on October 17–18 at Bedford Valley Golf Club, looking to carry their momentum into the final tournament of the season.
