Varsity vs NORTHVIEW HIGH SCHOOL (14 - 11) Win In a hotly contested battle of two highly ranked teams, the Spring Lake Lakers girls lacrosse team defeated the Wildcats from Grand Rapids Northview on Friday by a score of 14-11. The Lakers jumped out to a 6-1 lead after one quarter only to see Northview narrow the score to 9-7 at half. After a back and forth 3rd quarter the Lakers took control in the fourth quarter and was able to close out the game. Leading the Lakers in scoring was freshman Micah Gawronski with 7 goals. Grace Humphrey and Aubrey Llewellyn each also added 2 goals while Abbey Rogalski, Stafford Sieracki, and Claire Arnold each added a single goal. Leading the defense against a very strong Northview offense was Riley Johnson and Emily Riemersma, along with the whole defensive unit. Goalie Elena Robinson added numerous big saves in net and was a key factor in the victory. Next up for the Lakers is a road conference game against Forest Hills Central on Monday.
