Today the JV Volleyball team hosted an Invitational and went 2-1-1 on the day. In pool play we split with Covenant Christian (25-17, 18-25); won against Hart (25-20, 25-18); and lastly defeated Newaygo (25-15, 25-9). We came out 1st place in our pool and placed into the Gold Bracket. We lost in the semi final match against a tough Forest Hills Central team with the scores of 23-25, 19-25. The team played well all day and just didn't have enough to go all the way to the finals. We had some outstanding stats from everyone today. We had many players in double digits in kills. Lillie Kane led the team in kills with 22, Gwen Adams had 20, Mila Crabtree had 16, and Ella Plott had 13 kills. Defensively we were strong with Avery Turbett getting us a team high 68 digs on the day, while Madelyn Wolfinbarger had 44, and Averi Martin had 38. Hannah Beecham also added 3 kills and 10 digs, and Ella Say had 4 kills and 5 digs. Leading us in the setters position was Ellee Kline with 24 assists, Sierra Lukas had 15, Kellen Armey had 12 and Bryn Crabtree had 9 assists. Ellee Kline and Kellen Armey also led us from the service line and got 5 service aces each on the day. Our over all record is now 7-8-2 and we are 0-5 in the OK Conference. Our next match will be home on Tuesday, September 22nd vs Holland at 5pm.
