Lakers Race Under Friday Night Lights in Nightfall Division The Spring Lake boys cross country team took to the course late Friday night for their second meet of the season, lining up for a 9:45 PM start in the "Nightfall" division. Competing against a stacked 21-team field under the stadium lights, the Lakers secured a 12th-place finish with 336 points. The electric night-race atmosphere proved to be a fast course for Spring Lake, with all 16 competing athletes recording either a season best or an all-time personal record. Junior Isaac Vandlen paced the Lakers, taking 50th overall with a season-best time of 17:11.6. Right on his heels was sophomore Dane Trask, who claimed 57th place in 17:22.7 (SB). Spring Lake’s top five scoring group was rounded out by a trio of PR performances from junior Fhoenix Stellard (73rd, 17:46.0), sophomore Peter Conley (91st, 18:13.1), and sophomore Drew Trask (101st, 18:23.4). In total, 10 Spring Lake runners set all-time personal bests during the late-night event.
