The Spring Lake Lakers defeated the Grant Tigers in game one of the doubleheader 4-0 on a dominating pitching performance by Michigan State commit, Maddux Kipling who threw a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts! Kipling faced the minimum number of batters (21) because the two runners that walked were eliminated on the bases. Kipling picked the first base runner off at first base and catcher Owen Smies threw out the second base runner attempting to steal second base. Oliver Smies and Max Feltner each had an RBI singles to lead the Laker offense. Spring Lake completed the doubleheader sweep with another 4-0 victory over Grant. Oliver Smies was the winning pitcher allowing 3 hits, striking out 7 and walking none. The Lakers only managed three hits, but made the most of their opportunities in the win. Owen Smies, Max Feltner and Ryan Fine each singled for Spring Lake.
