High School vs GRAND RAPIDS CHRISTIAN HS (20 - 10) Win Tonight SL Boys took on league leading and defending conference champs Grand Rapids Christian and won 20-10. This is the first time defeating GRC, which was a goal of ours since the program started 3 years ago. This was a fantastic day for Spring Lake Bowling. These boys have worked endlessly on their games. I am so proud of them. Today was a team victory! The baker format is so important. Winning those 2 games 163-162 and 175-174 by a total of 2 pins puts you up 10 points right away and then less pressure when comes to the team portion. Leading the way tonight as they have all year were the 3 seniors Charlie Recor, Easton Vasquez and Hudson Case. Charlie and Easton had there high 2 game sets of the year. Recor rolled games of 195 and 235 (430) while Vasquez rolled his personal best game and series 153 and 230 (383). Hudson Case chipped in with 185 and threw some clutch strikes in the baker format. This was a total team effort! Monday Feb 2nd the Lakers host Catholic Central HS at Northway Lanes. 3pm start time.. Spring Lake improves to 6-1-1 in conference and tied atop of OK White with Ottawa Hills.
